ADFF: Toronto 2024

The Architecture & Design Film Festival (ADFF) returns to Toronto, delivering three days of the very best global contemporary cinema celebrating architecture and design. With panel discussions, parties and big-screen experiences, ADFF: Toronto 2024 promises to be the best year yet. ADFF: TORONTO is presented by Eventscape and runs at the TIFF Lightbox, October 23-26.

According to ADFF Founder and Director Kyle Bergman, AIA, "Each year we screen over 350 films to uncover the most compelling and beautiful stories. Our goal is to entertain, educate, and foster community around the love of architecture and design. This year many of the films shed light on the singular genius of people who were challenged to fight the status quo and stay true to their vision to leave a lasting impact."

ADFF: TORONTO will kick off on October 23, with the world premiere of Arthur Erickson: Beauty Between the Lines. This compelling documentary follows the rise and fall of local and international phenomenon, Arthur Erickson – the architect, the empresario, the socialite and the family man. The film weaves a showcase of Erickson's elegant and innovative structures with revelations of the man behind the story, and the relationships that shaped his fascinating life.

Another highlight, on October 26 is Stardust – The Story of Robert Venturi and Denise Scott Brown – an intimate portrait of two of the most influential architects of the last century. Filmed over two decades by their son, Stardust, the film follows 'Bob and Denise' in a (tragi-comic) road movie across continents, as they look back to the events and buildings that inspired a partnership and love affair of over half a century.

Several films will be followed by thought-provoking panel discussions with high-profile speakers and special guests organized in collaboration with the Toronto Society of Architects. See listings for more details.
